| BigH: | And did I mention it has 197,000 miles on it? I bought it in '75 with 111,000 miles. I'd say that's a strong performer. The Ford 289 is probably the most durable engine ever built. Reminds me of my '82 Kawasaki KZ100J. That sucker took a beating, too, but always performed (it was used widely for cop bikes back in the day). I think this is gonna be fun. Costly, but fun. | BigH: | And funny that you mention the '64 Impala. That's what I really wanted back in '75, but the Galaxie was just a better looking car. I'm not anti-GM, but I've always liked Ford designs better. For example, a '57 Chevy does nothing for me, but a '56 Fairlane excites me. And I pretty much like any car built between 1960-1964. It's funny that we're opposite in the Ford vs Chevy designs. My head turns for all of those old Chevy's...Chevy II, Chevelle! Nova. Not so much the Fords. But I love them all! I get all goosebumpy when I see any of them....GTO, Challenger, AMC Javelin, 'Cuda, Roadrunner. We have a friend with, not one, but two Buick Stage 1's. Have fun, BigH, and keep us posted. | BigH: | What really kills me is the Galaxie has no collectible value at all (production numbers were so high) but Mustangs fetch top dollar. First, never a mustang fan. Second, you see Mustangs all around. Tell me the last time you saw a Galaxie in great condition? Never is the answer. So that should increase its value, but it doesn't. But I don't care.
